Over the next two months, the library will host a range of free activities for children to encourage and support a love of reading. Participants can also win prizes for reaching their reading goals. Registration starts June 1st at 2 p.m. and will continue through the end of July.

The Library recognizes that summer is a transition time please fill out the reading log for the grade you will be entering into for the school year Fall 2018.Pre-K to K:Reading Log1st-2nd Grade: Reading Log3rd-4th Grade:Reading Log5th Grade: Reading LogYou can register any time throughout the program. Read on your own, ask a parent to read to you or listen to audiobooks. They all count towards logging total reading hours.
How it Works:
Use your reading log to keep track of how many hours you are reading.Each time you complete your reading goal, you can pick out a prize. Your reading goal is listed on your reading log.Reading goals vary depending on your reading level.
Reading Levels and Goals
Pre-K to K:Read 15 books with a parent and do 5 of the parent/child activities included with the log to earn a prize.1st-2nd Grade:Read or listen to books for 2 hours to earn a prize.3rd-4th Grade:Read or listen to books for 4 hours to earn a prize.5th Grade:Read or listen to books for 5 hours to earn a prize.
You can pick up a prize each time you complete your reading goal. You can claim your prizes at the library’s service desk. You must have your reading log with you in order to claim your prize.The first time you pick out a prize, you will get to pick an item from our “Pages for Prizes” bucket.The second time you pick out a prize, you will get to pick one free admission ticket.The third time you pick out a prize, you will get to pick out a free book.After you pick up your third prize, you turn in your reading log and start over. Material may be read in any format - books, magazines, graphic novels, audio books, etc.Prizes Available while supplies last.Prizes Not Picked Up within 2 weeks will be forfeited.
