This summer, take on a reading challenge! Try out our teen summer reading program, Have Book - Will Travel. Expand your horizons and travel the world through reading. As you read more books you will receive prizes and the chance to win our ultimate raffle prize. Do you have what it takes to win it all? Teens who are going into 6th grade through those going into 12th grade are welcome to participate.

Getting Started

Sign up at the front desk or online - sign up online here (connect).  You can pick up a paper copy of the Reading Log at the desk or download it here (download) to keep track of your reading hours. You can register any time throughout the program.  You can even count any summer reading you’ve done since the program began!

How it Works:

Use your reading log to keep track of how many hours you are reading. After reading for 5 hours, you are eligible to check in at the front desk to pick up a prize. (You must have your reading log with you in order to claim your prize) Prize options include books, candy bars, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Culver’s, Teen bucks (library made dollars that can be used towards paying fines), and other donated prizes. You can check in for a prize up to 5 times throughout the program for a total of 25 hours read. Once you reach 25hours/pick up your 5th and final prize, you are entered into the end of the program drawing to win a $25 amazon gift card (there is one gift card for middle school and one for highschool).

Keep Reading! More Reading More Entries!

For every 5 more hours you read after the 25 hours, you get another entry into the drawing. For example, if you read for 30 hours you have two entries in the drawing or if you read for 35 hours you have three entries in the drawing. Material may be read in any format - books, magazines, graphic novels, audio books, etc. Prizes Available while supplies last Prizes Not Picked Up within 2 weeks will be forfeited.
